What a great week!  It’s hard to believe that we are in week 2 of our 14-15 school year.  Just a reminder that tomorrow is School Spirit Day at LME.  Wear your favorite LME shirt or school colors.  Also, don’t forget that we do not have school on Monday, September 1st.

The students are doing a GREAT job walking to class on their own.  I am so proud of them.  Keep up the great work.  Please remember to have your child here before 7:40 so that they have time to get settled in their classrooms.  Instruction in the classroom begins at 7:40 and if they are just arriving at that time, it leaves them feeling a little rushed.

Carline Note- Please DO NOT get out of the car in the morning or afternoon to load or unload your child.  We will assist with that.  If you need to take care of car seat or any other issues, please pull to the parking lot.  It is a safety issue for other adults to be exiting cars at this time.

Students in grades 3-5 who are interested in serving on the Lake Murray Elementary Student Council will have an interest meeting on Sept. 4 at 7:00am in the Learning Commons.  Students serving can’t be on a current leadership team due to conflicts in schedules.  Students interested must be able to arrive at 7:00am monthly for meetings.

Have you thought of volunteering at LME?  If you are interested, please join us on Friday, September 5th at 8:00am in the Learning Commons for our Volunteer Orientation and Homeroom Mom Meeting.  PTA will also sponsor a Meet and Greet on this day at 8:30 for anyone interested in helping out with their activities.  There is truly something for everyone here at LME!

This week our students are working on Habit 1- Be Proactive.  Help them brainstorm ways they can be proactive at home.  Can they lay their clothes out the night before school?  Can they begin a project early and not the night before it is due?  Being Proactive helps students see how they can make good choices to help be successful.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
