LME Updates – Week of 9/12/16

I would like to thank your for your support of LMES Sonic Night.  We had a great turn out, and the staff all enjoyed our “shifts.”  Personally, I learned the car parking  area is referred to as “stalls” and a car that goes through the drive thru, but still is waiting for their food is called the “pull car.”  I also learned the table tents inside with your food number on them are costly so you better remember to get them when you deliver somebody’s order!  It was all so much fun!!  The best part was the opportunity for all of us to come together as a school community!  Thanks again to PTA for this wonderful family night.

Upcoming Dates to Remember:

Interim Reports  will be issued on September 15th.

PTA Fall Fundraiser ends September 15th  –  You should have received your Charleston Wraps fundraising packet on September 1st.   Please support our PTA and our school through your sales efforts.  The profit from this fundraiser goes to support events for the students and staff, as well as First in Math.  We are hoping our fundraisers will be profitable enough to assist financially with field trips again this year.

3rd-5th Grade Parents (only):  If you child is currently not in a leadership position at LMES, we do have applications in the front office for those that may be interested in running for student council representative for their class.  The applications for this leadership role are available in the front office and due back by Friday, September 16th.  Elections will be held in each room on Thursday, September 22nd.

Plan Ahead – Collaborative Planning Day, September 21st  –   Lexington One’s first collaborative planning day is Wednesday, September 21st.   Students are dismissed at 11:40 am.   Please make sure you have a dismissal plan for your children.   You would have completed this on LME’s transportation form at the beginning of the school year.    If you need to change plans, please make sure you send a note to your child’s teacher.    A sack lunch is served that day, so plan accordingly with your children.    They should either bring a lunch/heavy snack from home or purchase a school lunch.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
