Back to School 2019 – 2020 Information

Class Assignment Day: August 8th from 8:00am-1:00pm and 3:00pm-6:00pm
Class Assignment Day will be held on Thursday, August 8th. You will enter through the main school doors. This is an exciting day as you will have the opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, join the PTA, purchase LMES Spirit Wear, pay school fees, and so much more! In July, you will receive an email from Online Registration with directions and a login code. If this process is completed prior to Class Assignment Day, you will be able to go in the “express line.” Please note if this is not completed, you will have to go to the computer lab first to get this done before you can go to the cafeteria. You will need to bring the following items: CURRENT ELECTRIC, GAS, OR WATER BILL AND A PARENT/GUARDIAN DRIVER’S LICENSE OR PHOTO ID.

Parent Orientation Sessions

Parent Orientation Sessions are for PARENTS ONLY. During this event, we will share information and expectations for the upcoming school year.August 15th

5:30pm-6:00pm: ESOL Orientation in Room 309 with Mrs. Nuovo

5:30pm-6:00pm: EAGLE Orientation in the Library with Mrs. Cammann and Mr. Rich

6:00pm-6:30pm: Kindergarten-5th Grade Session One

6:35pm-7:05pm: Kindergarten-5th Grade Session Two (This will be a repeat of Session One. This will provide parents flexibility and support if more than one child attends here.)

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

  • Students are allowed to enter their classrooms at 7:25am.
  • The tardy bell rings at 7:40am. We kindly ask that all of our students be in their classrooms. ready to learn by this time. This aids in our students in a smooth start to their day.
  • Students are dismissed at 7:25am. If you are a car rider, please make sure your car tag is displayed until your child gets in the car.

Walking Students to Class

During the first days of school, we know that you are anxious to walk students to class. We allow parents to walk students to class from Tuesday, August 20th to August 23rd without having to check in.Beginning Monday, August 26th, we ask that parents allow your child to walk to class on his/her own. We have adults throughout the building to assist them. If you need to walk your child to class, you will need to have your driver’s license and check in the lobby to receive an identification sticker. These must be warn in a visible place as long as you are on campus. We appreciate your support with this process.

Cafeteria

You can check out our school menus, to plan your child’s meal choice, at this link https://schools.mealviewer.com/school/LakeMurrayElementary . You can also create an account to pay for your child’s meals on line, which is a great feature.Beginning September 3rd, parents will be able to come and eat with their children in the cafeteria.We use the first two weeks to get the procedures and routines established for all our students. Do you want to volunteer at LMES for the 2019-2020 school year?

We are introducing a new online application on July 1, 2019!

Please contact our school for instructions on how to complete the online application. In the event that no one is available to help, you will be redirected to the District Office.

Please note that you will be unable to complete this application until July 1, 2019. The process may take 2-4 weeks for completion. Once you are approved, you are good for the 2019-2020 school year. Please make sure to complete this information at least 4 weeks prior to the date you need it just in case there are delays. The school does not have access to results of background checks.
