Thursday, August 8th, is Class Assignment Day at Lake Murray Elementary, and we are so excited! Our hours for Class Assignment Day are from 8:00am-1:00pm and 3:00pm-6:00pm. You will receive an email regarding your Online Registration snapcode within a couple of weeks. We highly encourage you to register and pay fees online to expedite your process on Class Assignment Day. If you are unable to register at home, we will have computers available to register at school. This does have to be completed before you complete the rest of the process.
Parents /Guardians must present two forms of ID for proof of residency.
- One must be a Government issued picture ID, such as a Driver license or ID card.
- The second form of ID must be a current, within the last 30 days, utility bill, such as water, electric/power, sewer bill, or a lease/rental agreement. Cable, satellite, cellphone and other bills are not accepted forms for proof of residency.
- Both documents (ID and bill) must have matching names and addresses.
At Class Assignment Day, parents and students provide proof of residency, pay any school fees they have not already paid online, pay any outstanding debt, place money on lunch accounts, pick up student schedules, join the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and complete any other necessary paperwork. After this process is complete, you will have the opportunity to take your child down to their classroom and meet their teacher. Please understand that the classrooms will still be “under construction”; however, we feel it is important for your child to have the opportunity to meet their teacher prior to the first day of school.
Each year, we welcome our new 1st through 5th grade students and offer a new student orientation to familiarize students with their schedules and the building. New Student Orientation (1st-5th graders only) will be held on Thursday, August 15th, 9:00am-10:00am. This will be held in the Counselors Cove (Room 111), and we look forward to seeing our new Mariners!
Eagles and ESOL Orientation will be held on Thursday, August 15th, from 5:30pm- 6:00 pm (This is for parents only). Parent Orientation for your child’s homeroom class will be held on August 15, 2019 – 6:00pm – 7:15pm (Again, this is for parents only). There will be two sessions with the same information being shared at each session. Session One will be from 6:00pm-6:30pm and Session Two will be from 6:35pm-7:05pm. We encourage all parents to attend, and thank you in advance for your time. We have found when parents know the expectations prior to the first day of school, it makes everyone more at ease with their new grade level and teacher.
Remember the first day of school is Tuesday, August 20th The school opens each morning at 7:00am, and we do serve breakfast and lunch. Finally, the LMES School Improvement Council (SIC) serves as an advisory committee to our principal, Mrs. Jennifer Stanley, and the LMES faculty. Our SIC goals are to support and encourage families and community members to be strong partners in our students’ learning and to engage in data-based conversations linked to school improvement goals. The SIC will typically meet the first Thursday of the month at 7:15am prior to the PTA meeting at 8:00am. The first meeting will be Thursday, September 12, 2019.
